Captain Name: Laura Milton Nationality: UK Number of Crew: 2

Laura Milton started dinghy sailing at the age of 6 on the Aberdyfi estuary in North wales. Starting in Toppers before graduating up to Lasers and mopping the floor with the local competition. It was her greatest passion through her formative years as well as a love of the sea and the outdoors.

In July 2014, Laura achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Sports Science and Outdoor Activities at Bangor University. Following this Laura hit the jackpot and was sponsored to do her Yachtmaster Offshore with Commercial Endorsement and Cruising Instructors. Since passing her Yachtmasters Laura has never looked back. In February 2015 Laura fulfilled a further ambition by undertaking the delivery of a Shipman 63’ on an Atlantic crossing from Gibraltar to Antigua via Tenerife.

Laura has previously worked for Sunsail and The Moorings in The British Virgin Islands and Greece Ionian as a bareboat skipper, flotilla skipper and cruising instructor, for three seasons. Prior to working for Sunsail, she spent 4 weeks freelancing for Malta Sailing Academy instructing Day Skipper and Competent Crew courses.

Laura Hodd is passionate about being on the water and all aspects of sailing, watersports, travel and cooking. She enjoys meeting new people and infusing them with her enthusiasm for sailing. Working on an Oyster Yacht is a job that Laura has dreamt of since a very young age and she is very excited about the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Laura has enjoyed sailing since an early age and has been yacht racing for the last twenty five years. Following her Business degree, she decided to pursue her growing passion for sports sponsorship by gaining a MA in Marketing Management.

She went onto practise marketing for over a decade, predominantly in the high performance sports & hospitality sector. During this time, Laura volunteered for five years as Lifeboat Crew with the RNLI on the Isle fo Wight.

Laura is currently embracing what she loves most about life - experiencing new cultures and food, whilst meeting interesting people. She looks forward to sharing the joys of sailing with others and helping create memories afloat that last a lifetime!
