SAMI PARVIANEN, Finnish, 45 years old
Languages: Native Finnish, fluent English, basic Swedish, German and Spanish.
Born in Lieksa, Finland, by 17 he became a company owner. Boating became a hobby until he decided to become a professional in 2000. He has served as captain on many vessels over the years in the Mediterranean, Baltic and Northern sea. He was the captain of Katariina which belongs to the same owner.â?¨Years of experience have have moulded an efficient organiser out of Sami as well trained him to be a first-class vessel handler. He enjoys martial arts and is a big fan of motor sports. He will not rest until the client and the yacht have received the best possible service and while doing that there seems to be no problem he can't solve. As father of three children under age 10, he is also very good with the youngest customers.
First Mate:
JAKKO HELANTO, Finnish, 52 years old.
Languages: English, Finnish, Swedish and basic German.
He was born in Vehmaa, Finland at the sea, and started his career at sea 1985. In these 33 years, he has had various jobs in the shipping industry. He has also worked on various vessels and prior to Africa I, he was the captain of the research vessel Aranda, cruising all over the world. He has also been Captain of several Cargo ships some over 100m long. Jaakko has STCW Master certificate of competency unlimited. The long time that he has spent on ships and at sea, have turned him into an experienced ship handler and a creator of good spirits. Jaakko always makes passenger safety a priority. In his spare time, he enjoys running, cycling, swimming, and many other sports like sailing.
Engineer:
SANTERI SAARINORO, Finnish, 43 years old.
Languages: English, Finnish basic Swedish
Santeri was born in Helsinki, Finland. He has more than 15 years of experience in the yacht machinery and electricity areas and shares a long-term relationship with Captain Sami, having worked together on board Katariina, which belongs to the same owner. Santeri is an effective problem solver that cannot take shortcuts or rest before the issue has been fixed. He is positive, dynamic and has an outgoing personality. He is a Star Wars fanatic that enjoys hiking and water sports in his spare time.
Bosun:
PEDRO GODINHO, Portuguese, 45 years old.
Languages: English, Portuguese and Spanish.
Pedro was born in Portugal. He joined the yachting industry in 2000 he had been working in Africa for 2 years with the previous owners. Pedro has lot of experience and he many skills. He is very good problem solver and often finds better and faster ways of working efficiently to achieve results faster.
Able Seaman:
MORTEN VAHTRA, Estonian, 31 years old.
Languages: English, Estonian and Finnish.
Morten was born in Estonia but grew up in Helsinki, where his family moved when he was 8 years old. He joined the Industry in 2013 and since the year after is working with Captain Sami and Santeri. Reliable and flexible, Morten is a hard-worker with a "can do" attitude". During the winter months, he spends most of the time at school to achieve his STCW Master Unlimited.
Motorman:
JUHANI HEMMINKI, Finnish, 19 years old.
Languages: English, Finnish and Swedish.
Juhani has been in first apprentice and because of his hard working attitude he is now working as motorman in Africa. He has STCW Watchkeeping Engineers degree so he is well edjucated. Juhani can work long days and never complaining. On his spare time he likes to exercise in the gym.
Chef:
YAROSLAV MOSHKALENKO, Ukrainian, 38 years old.
Languages: English, Russian and Ukrainian.
Yaroslav Moskalenko is a chef with broad knowledge of international cuisine who has been working as a chef for a number of years on land before stepping up to the yacht industry. Originally from Ukraine though from 2015 is working world wide including such countries as Germany, Austria, France, Oman. Now he can get inspiration from the years of experience in variety of places he lived in and great chefs he worked with. Diversity of cooking styles and menus covers tradition home style or modern molecular Italian, French, Northern Europe, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Russian, Thai, Japanese, Mexican and American cuisines. Our chef can provide you with delicious bakery and sophisticated deserts. He has extensive understanding of menu planning and can easily follow different dietary requirements such as Katogenic, Gluten, Lactose free, Low fat, Vegetarian, Vegan etc. As a testimony of his proficiency he holds Hygiene and food safety level 3 certificate obtained from Highfield qualifications the UK's leader for compliance and apprenticeship qualifications and Meritime and Coastguard agency certificate of competency as ship's chef.
Chief Stewardess:
MARTINA BRECIC, Bosnian, 30 years old.
Languages: Croatian native,English fluent, Spanish and Italian good, German basics.â?¨Martina was born in town Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina. After high school she moved in Split, Croatia. She went on college in Split, during which she worked as Store manager and F&B manager in five star hotel. Afterwards, Martina started working on motor yachts. â?¨She takes care of the cabins and clients with big enthusiasm and professional touch. She carries a barmaid certificate (speciality coffee, wine and cocktails).Martina is an empathic person who does volunteering such as working at the children's playground and she loves animals. Her passion is horse riding.
Stewardess:
JOSIVA NAJEV, Croatian, 22 years old.
Languages: English, Croatian and Basic Spanish.
Josipa is always in a good mood when she is doing housekeeping, laundry and service. One of her skills is first aid she has worked at hospitals as a nurse so she is well trained. She completed the D2 basic nautical safety and boat skipper up to 30 GT. Josipa is a very easy going person with much empathy and always has a smile on her face. On her free time she loves to listen to good music, go to the theatre, traveling and reading.
Deckhand:
JYRI PÖNNI, Finnish, 22 years old.
Languages: English, Russian, Finnish and Basic Swedish.
Jyri is in very good shape so he is always the first choice for jobs that require a lot of endurance. He was in the Finnish Navy as a diver, which gave him a lot of experience and makes him a very good instructor and leader for diving groups. In his spare time he likes to exercise at the gym and go for long runs.
